"I came to UNC with the faith that God was with me and that He would
guide me to the places where He wanted me to be. It didn’t occur
to me that there were more people in my dorm than lived in my hometown.
I needed to find my niche. I went to the welcome back picnic at the Baptist
Student Union and was invited to go to church with some people who went
to Hillsong. I walked in the doors and was greeted by friendly people
who were honestly happy that I was there. As time progressed I realized
that this was the family God intended for me where I have not only been
encouraged to meet new people while learning about my faith, but I have
also been encouraged to grow as a person discovering her gifts and talents.
The biggest blessings of my college career have been hearing God’s
call on my life and finding the church family that supports me in any
way they can whether it be teaching preschoolers, VBS, music, or children’s
church knowing that there are people cheering me on as I run the race
towards God’s plan for my life."

"I came to HillSong by accident. I was planning to go to another
church but I missed the van. My roommate at the time had been planning
to go to HillSong, so I decided to tag along. On my first visit to HillSong,
I was deeply impressed by the warmth of the congregation and that "family
feel" that makes a church a home. I've been attending for three years
now. I never did end up visiting that other church. I'm sure it's a fine
church too, but I had already found a church body to call my own."

"When I first started at UNC everyone told me that I needed to find
a place to fit ina niche. I am from a very small town so I expected
this task to be nearly impossible on such a large campus. A friend invited
me to church at HillSong and I immediately became involved. The Sunday
night meal and Bible study along with weekday small groups gave me time
away from the madness of schoolwork to fellowship with many friends. I
was also active in the Baptist Student Union (BSU) where many members
attend HillSong. We would often carpool to church, Bible study, or to
use the exam study rooms. I quickly learned that HillSong Church was not
just a Sunday morning thing!"
